Please Note: Our address is listed as Makanda, but we are not located in the downtown/boardwalk area of Makanda. The Makanda zip code covers a large rural area. Follow the route directions below carefully and watch for our large green and yellow Shawnee Bluffs Canopy Tour signs with red arrows at major turns.

Important GPS Notes:

  • Some GPS systems recognize only the 800 number range on Robinson Hill Road. If this occurs, continue past the 800 numbers and proceed to 635 Robinson Hill Road.
  • If arriving from the north, GPS may attempt to send you past our driveway. Our large entrance sign will be on the right.
  • If arriving from the south, GPS may indicate you have arrived before reaching us. Continue another ½ mile up the hill — our entrance will be on the left.
  • If traveling on Interstate 57 from the north, we recommend using Exit #40 for the most direct route.

From Highway 51 in Carbondale:

  1. Travel south on Highway 51 and turn left onto Wing Hill Road at the large SBCT sign.
  2. Continue 4.3 miles to a Y-intersection and stay left (still on Wing Hill Road).
  3. Proceed 3.1 miles (road becomes Hall Church Road) to Sullivan Road and turn left.
  4. Travel north 2.0 miles. After the second low water crossing, the road becomes Robinson Hill Road.
  5. Continue ½ mile up the hill to our entrance on the left.

From East Carbondale (Highway 13):

  1. Travel south on Giant City Road 6.4 miles and turn left on Little Grassy Road (large SBCT sign at the intersection).
  2. Go 2.8 miles to Rocky Comfort Road and turn right.
  3. At 1.8 miles, stay right at the Y.
  4. Travel 3.0 miles to Panther’s Den Road and turn left at the large SBCT sign.
  5. Continue approximately 3.1 miles to our entrance on the right.

From Carterville / Herrin:

  1. Travel south on Highway 148 to Interstate 57.
  2. Take I-57 south to Exit #40.
  3. Turn right at the top of the ramp and follow the SBCT signs to our entrance.

From Interstate 24 (Paducah, KY):

  1. Take I-24 to Exit# 7.
  2. Travel west on Tunnel Hill Road to Highway 37.
  3. Turn right into Goreville.
  4. At the bank (near Family Dollar), turn left at the SBCT sign.
  5. Continue approximately 8 miles west, following the SBCT signs at every turn.

From Anna:

  1. On Highway 146 at the east edge of town, turn left onto Lick Creek Road (in front of Subway).
  2. Travel 8.9 miles to Hall Church Road and turn left.
  3. Go 3 miles and turn right onto Sullivan Road at the SBCT sign.
  4. Traveling north, you will cross two low water crossings. At the second crossing, stay to the right as Sullivan Road becomes Robinson Hill Road.
  5. Continue ½ mile up the hill to our entrance on the left.

From Exit #36 (Interstate 57):

  1. Go west on Lick Creek Road.
  2. Turn right onto Hall Church Road.
  3. Travel 0.3 miles and turn right onto Sullivan Road.
  4. Cross two low water crossings. At the second crossing, stay to the right as Sullivan Road becomes Robinson Hill Road.
  5. Continue ½ mile up the hill to our entrance on the left.

Watch for Our Signs
